1. Scope and privacy summary

Vuttara Browser is a Windows-first Electron/Chromium browser designed primarily around local browser profiles. NuttaButtaInAA does not operate a service that automatically receives your browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs, saved passwords, or page contents merely because you use Vuttara Browser.

Information can leave your device as part of normal web browsing and when you deliberately use features that connect to websites or configured third-party services, including search, AI providers, web AI chats, translation, extension sources, protection-list sources, update infrastructure, and other services you choose to use.

Vuttara does not currently operate behavioral advertising or general usage-analytics telemetry for the Browser, and it does not currently provide a Vuttara account-sync service.

2. Local browser profiles and stored data

Depending on the features you use, Vuttara may store browsing history, recently closed tabs, session-restore information, bookmarks, download history, settings, site-specific zoom, tab and window state, Chromium cookies, cache and site storage, site permissions, extension configuration, installed-web-app configuration, protection settings, and other browser preferences locally on your device.

Vuttara may also store user-enabled autofill information, saved passwords, payment information, AI settings, native AI conversation history, and other information that you intentionally save. Supported sensitive saved values, including configured AI-provider API keys and supported saved credentials, use Electron and operating-system secure-storage facilities where implemented.

Browser profiles can contain sensitive information. Anyone who can access your Windows account, browser profile, exported data, backups, or an unlocked device may be able to access some locally stored information.

3. GitHub and Microsoft Store profile separation

GitHub/NSIS and Microsoft Store/MSIX editions use separate profile and application-data locations. This allows both editions to be installed on the same Windows PC without intentionally sharing their normal browser profile data.

Data stored in one edition is not automatically synchronized into the other edition. If you manually import, export, copy, or otherwise transfer data, the resulting copies are subject to the destination profile and your device controls.

4. Private browsing

Private tabs use a separate non-persistent session and are designed to stay out of normal browsing history, recently closed tabs, and normal session restore; keep normal saved autofill and password data unavailable; keep extensions disabled; and purge private-session cookies, cache, and storage when the last private tab closes.

Private browsing does not make you anonymous to websites, network operators, employers, schools, internet providers, or other services. Files you download, information you submit to websites, screenshots you save, and external records created by third parties may remain after a private session ends.

5. Web navigation, search, and network activity

When you visit a website, use a search engine, load media, sign in to a service, install a web app, or otherwise request online content, Vuttara must communicate with the relevant service. Those destinations and network intermediaries can receive standard request information such as your IP address, requested URLs, headers, cookies, account/session information, device or browser characteristics, and other protocol data.

Vuttara may also contact official GitHub release infrastructure for GitHub-edition update checks and downloads, EasyList/EasyPrivacy or other configured protection-list infrastructure when lists are updated, extension sources or stores when you choose to use them, and other services required by features you deliberately invoke.

6. Vuttara AI and third-party AI services

Vuttara AI is optional. Depending on the AI feature you invoke and the provider you select, prompts and relevant context may be sent to that provider. Context can include selected text, page text, page or tab information, questions, writing-assistant content, images, screenshots, PDF content, or other material needed to perform the requested action.

Supported configurations can include OpenAI, Groq, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, LM Studio, Ollama, and custom OpenAI-compatible providers. Local-provider configurations such as LM Studio or Ollama can keep model processing on systems you control, depending on your own configuration. Cloud providers process submitted information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Web AI chat modes for services such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Perplexity operate as third-party web services using the normal Vuttara browsing session. Their account, cookie, retention, training, and privacy practices are controlled by those providers, not by NuttaButtaInAA.

Vuttara may store native AI conversations and AI preferences in the local profile. Removing local Vuttara data does not delete information already submitted to a third-party AI provider; use that provider's controls for provider-side data.

7. Website permissions, extensions, and installed web apps

Websites may request access to capabilities such as camera, microphone, geolocation, notifications, clipboard, display capture, and other browser permissions. Permission choices are handled by Vuttara and/or Chromium, but information you then provide to a permitted website is governed by that website.

Extensions can have broad access depending on their declared permissions. Installed web apps are websites running in Vuttara-managed windows and can use the installing Vuttara profile session. Extension publishers and website operators control their own data practices. Review permissions and only install or authorize software and sites you trust.

8. Protection features and third-party lists

Vuttara Protection, popup blocking, EasyList/EasyPrivacy-based filtering, permission controls, private browsing, prompt-injection filtering, and other safety or privacy features are intended to reduce certain risks. They do not guarantee anonymity, complete tracker or advertisement blocking, malware prevention, safe content, accurate classification, or compatibility with every website.

Protection-list updates may require network requests to the applicable list source. Those providers can receive standard request information.

9. Updates and distribution channels

The direct GitHub/NSIS edition uses Vuttara's GitHub release updater. Update checks and downloads can contact GitHub and related release infrastructure, which may receive standard network request information. Vuttara's current GitHub updater does not intentionally download, install, or restart for an update without user action.

The Microsoft Store/MSIX edition disables Vuttara's GitHub application updater and uses Microsoft Store-managed updates instead. Microsoft may process Store, account, device, diagnostic, download, and update information under Microsoft's own terms and privacy policies. Microsoft Store update behavior is controlled by Microsoft and the user's Store/Windows settings, not by Vuttara's GitHub updater.

10. Telemetry, crash diagnostics, and support

Vuttara does not currently operate general Browser usage-analytics telemetry or a behavioral advertising system. The current crash-diagnostic facility is local and automatic crash upload is disabled.

If you choose to send logs, screenshots, crash information, bug reports, or support requests, those materials may contain information such as app version, Windows version, URLs, page titles, technical logs, device information, screenshots, or steps to reproduce. Only send information you are comfortable sharing.

11. Third-party services and processing outside Canada

Third-party websites and services you choose to use are responsible for their own privacy practices. Depending on your activity and configuration, providers can include Microsoft, GitHub, Cloudflare, Google, AI providers, search providers, streaming platforms, extension publishers, hosting providers, website operators, and services you configure yourself.

Some providers may process information outside Canada and under laws that differ from those in Alberta or Canada. For questions about NuttaButtaInAA's own practices, contact privacy@nuttabuttainaa.com. For provider-side processing, consult the applicable provider's privacy policy.

12. Retention, clearing, and deletion

Normal-profile data generally remains on your device until it expires, you clear it, you reset or delete the relevant profile, you uninstall or remove applicable data, or another cleanup action occurs. Some files, such as downloads and exports, can exist outside the browser profile and must be removed separately.

Information intentionally submitted to third-party websites or services is controlled by those providers and is not deleted merely because you clear Vuttara's local data.

Information under NuttaButtaInAA's control, such as support correspondence you choose to send, is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, security and troubleshooting, recordkeeping, or as required or permitted by law.

13. Security

Vuttara uses Chromium/Electron security boundaries and features including browser sandboxing, context isolation, internal-page boundaries, permission controls, separate private sessions, and supported operating-system secure storage where implemented. Security features and software updates reduce risk but no browser, device, network, encryption method, extension, website, or storage system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Keep Windows and Vuttara updated, protect your Windows account, review site and extension permissions, and maintain appropriate backups of important information.

14. Children and legal capacity

Vuttara Browser is not directed to children under 13. Users below the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use Vuttara with parent or legal-guardian involvement and permission, especially when creating third-party accounts, making purchases, saving sensitive data, or using AI and other online services.

15. Privacy requests and contact

You may contact privacy@nuttabuttainaa.com to ask about access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for personal information controlled by NuttaButtaInAA where applicable. Legal exceptions may limit a request. NuttaButtaInAA cannot fulfill provider-side requests for information controlled solely by a website, Microsoft, GitHub, an AI provider, an extension publisher, or another third party.

16. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Vuttara Browser changes. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date and document version. Features that materially change collection, remote processing, analytics, accounts, synchronization, AI data transmission, or other privacy-relevant behavior should receive updated disclosure before or when they are introduced.

This policy describes the current Vuttara Browser project and does not remove privacy, consumer, or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
