Vuttara Browser Terms of Service
These Terms govern current official Vuttara Browser releases, development builds, downloads, update channels, and related official Browser services and support.
1. Acceptance and scope
By installing, launching, or using Vuttara Browser, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the current Vuttara Browser Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use Vuttara Browser.
These Terms apply to official Vuttara Browser builds and related downloads or support infrastructure provided by NuttaButtaInAA. Third-party websites, services, extensions, app stores, AI providers, search engines, and other external services are governed by their own terms and policies.
2. General-purpose browser and third-party content
Vuttara Browser is a general-purpose Electron/Chromium browser. You decide which websites to visit, what information to submit, which accounts to use, what files to download, what permissions to grant, what extensions or web apps to install, and which online transactions to perform.
Third-party page content, services, products, transactions, representations, account systems, downloads, media, advertising, and other material displayed through the Browser are not controlled, endorsed, verified, or guaranteed by NuttaButtaInAA merely because they can be accessed with Vuttara.
3. Browser profiles, local data, and backups
Vuttara profiles can contain important or sensitive information, including history, bookmarks, downloads, cookies, site storage, permissions, extensions, saved credentials, autofill information, payment information, AI settings, AI conversation history, and other browser state.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information you cannot afford to lose. Clearing browser data, deleting or resetting a profile, uninstalling software, replacing files, losing access to a Windows account, storage failure, or other cleanup or recovery actions can cause permanent data loss.
The GitHub/NSIS and Microsoft Store/MSIX editions use separate profile/data locations. Their data is not automatically synchronized between editions.
4. Private browsing and protection features
Private browsing, Vuttara Protection, popup blocking, EasyList/EasyPrivacy filtering, permission controls, prompt-injection filtering, security indicators, compatibility controls, and other security or privacy features are aids rather than guarantees.
These features do not guarantee anonymity, complete blocking, malware prevention, safe content, accurate detection, confidentiality from network operators or websites, or compatibility with every site. Private browsing does not erase downloaded files or records created by third parties.
5. Vuttara AI and AI-generated output
Vuttara AI features are optional and can use local or third-party AI providers selected or configured by the user. Depending on the feature, prompts and relevant context can include page text, selected text, tab information, images, screenshots, PDF content, writing-assistant material, and other information required to perform the requested action.
Third-party AI providers are responsible for their own availability, models, policies, retention, training practices, output, account requirements, pricing, quotas, and security. Web AI chat modes are third-party websites displayed through Vuttara and remain subject to those services' terms and policies.
AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, offensive, outdated, or inappropriate for a particular purpose. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, employment, identity, or other high-impact decisions. Review important output before using, publishing, submitting, or acting on it.
You are responsible for having the right to submit content to an AI provider and for complying with the provider's terms, applicable law, confidentiality obligations, intellectual-property rights, and privacy requirements.
6. Website permissions, extensions, and installed web apps
Camera, microphone, geolocation, notifications, clipboard, display capture, downloads, and other browser permissions can expose sensitive information or device capabilities to websites. Review permission prompts and only grant access when you understand and trust the requesting site.
Extensions may have broad access to browsing activity or page content depending on the permissions they request. Installed web apps are websites running in Vuttara-managed windows and may use the installing Vuttara profile session. Extension publishers and website operators are third parties and are responsible for their own software, content, security, terms, and privacy practices.
7. Downloads, files, credentials, and online transactions
You are responsible for files you choose to download or open, credentials you choose to save, payment or personal information you choose to store, and transactions you conduct through third-party websites. Vuttara may provide checksums, warnings, permission controls, blocking, or other assistance, but those features do not guarantee that a file, website, extension, account, payment flow, or transaction is safe or legitimate.
Use appropriate antivirus, operating-system protections, account security, backups, and independent judgment when handling important or sensitive material.
8. Updates and distribution channels
Updates may add, remove, repair, replace, or change functionality; update Chromium, Electron, protection components, or dependencies; address security issues; alter compatibility; change stored-data formats; or update legal notices.
GitHub/NSIS installations use Vuttara's GitHub release updater. Vuttara's current GitHub updater does not intentionally download, install, or restart for an update without user action.
Microsoft Store/MSIX installations disable Vuttara's GitHub application updater and use Microsoft Store-managed updates instead. Microsoft Store controls its own delivery, certification, signing, account behavior, and update mechanisms under Microsoft's terms and the user's Store/Windows settings.
No update mechanism can guarantee uninterrupted compatibility, successful migration, preservation of every local file, or continued support for every website, extension, service, operating-system version, or hardware configuration.
9. Third-party services and availability
Third-party websites, operating systems, Microsoft Store, GitHub, Cloudflare, search engines, AI providers, translation providers, extension stores, streaming platforms, hosting providers, hardware vendors, and other services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, availability, pricing, account rules, and technical requirements.
NuttaButtaInAA does not control third-party outages, bans, account decisions, content removals, API changes, website changes, anti-bot systems, DRM systems, extension changes, subscription requirements, or compatibility decisions.
10. Lawful use
You must use Vuttara Browser lawfully. Do not use official Vuttara infrastructure to facilitate malware distribution, unauthorized access, credential theft, unlawful surveillance, fraud, harassment, exploitation, infringement, or other unlawful activity.
Lawful security research, interoperability work, accessibility work, privacy research, and modification permitted by an applicable source or component licence are not prohibited by this clause.
11. Open-source components, licences, and branding
Vuttara Browser includes Electron, Chromium, libraries, filtering resources, and other open-source or third-party components. Separate licences and notices remain in force for the components to which they apply. These Terms do not reduce rights granted by an applicable open-source or third-party licence.
Vuttara, NuttaButtaInAA, project artwork, product presentation, and original project materials may be protected by applicable copyright, trademark, or other law. You may not falsely represent an unofficial, modified, repackaged, or third-party build as an official NuttaButtaInAA or Vuttara release or create confusion about sponsorship, certification, security review, compatibility, or source.
Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their presence in Vuttara does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vuttara Browser, development builds, website materials, downloads, update infrastructure, documentation, AI features, and related information are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, perfect security, complete blocking, compatibility, accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, preservation of data, or freedom from defects.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, remedy, consumer protection, or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ward Reynolds, NuttaButtaInAA, Vuttara contributors, and project maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, credentials, downloads, source code, revenue, profits, reputation, opportunity, account access, service access, or business interruption arising from or related to use of Vuttara Browser.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Mandatory consumer and statutory rights remain unaffected.
14. Changes, suspension, and discontinuation
Vuttara Browser, individual features, distribution channels, update mechanisms, supported services, and official infrastructure may be changed, suspended, replaced, or discontinued. Development builds can change without backward compatibility.
Access to official infrastructure may be restricted when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, maintenance, or protection of the project and its users.
These Terms may be updated as the project changes. Material revisions will be reflected by a revised effective date and document version.
15. Age and legal capacity
Users must be at least 13 to use Vuttara Browser. Users below the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use Vuttara with parent or legal-guardian involvement and permission, particularly when creating accounts, making purchases, saving sensitive information, installing extensions, or using AI and other online services.
16. Governing law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer, privacy, statutory, or other rights that apply based on your place of residence are not waived.
