1. Scope and current development status
These Terms of Service apply to the current ground-up Vuttara Studio project and to any development, preview, or future public build distributed under the current Vuttara Studio rewrite.
The current project is being rebuilt in Rust with Slint for the application UI, a separate VuttaraStudioEngine, and a wgpu/WGSL compositor architecture.
As of this effective date, the current rewrite remains under active development and there is no public rewrite build available for download.
The retired Vuttara Studio software line, its old changelog, installer, architecture, and release metadata do not define the features, guarantees, or support obligations of this new rewrite.
2. Acceptance
By installing, running, testing, or using a Vuttara Studio build that is made available under these Terms, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If you do not agree, do not install or use the applicable build.
A future installer or package may display these Terms or require an acknowledgement as part of installation or first use.
3. Development and pre-release software
Development, preview, DEV, alpha, beta, experimental, or otherwise pre-release builds may be incomplete, unstable, incompatible, changed without notice, or unsuitable for production use.
Features may be added, removed, redesigned, disabled, or replaced as development continues.
A development milestone shown on the website is not a guarantee that the feature is complete, standards-compliant, production-ready, or available in a public build.
4. Platform roadmap
Windows is the first implementation and intended release target for the current rewrite.
Linux and macOS are planned future targets. A roadmap statement is not a promise of release date, feature parity, continued development, minimum system support, or availability.
Graphics, capture, audio, codec, encoder, driver, operating-system, and hardware support may differ by platform and system configuration.
5. License and permitted use
Unless a specific release, source file, package, or component states otherwise, Vuttara Studio is provided only for lawful use consistent with these Terms and the licenses accompanying the applicable software and third-party components.
You may not falsely represent an unofficial build, modified build, fork, package, or service as an official NuttaButtaInAA or Vuttara Studio release.
Separate open-source licenses may grant additional rights for particular source code or third-party components. Those licenses control for the code or component they cover.
6. Your projects, media, and recordings
You retain your rights in content that you lawfully own or control.
You are responsible for the projects, media, recordings, scenes, graphics, audio, video, overlays, fonts, plugins, files, and other material you choose to use with Vuttara Studio.
You are also responsible for maintaining backups of important project files, media, and recordings.
Vuttara Studio is not a backup service.
7. Capture and recording responsibilities
When capture, audio, recording, camera, microphone, game, display, window, or similar production features are available, you are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful and that you have any required rights, permissions, notices, and consents.
Do not use Vuttara Studio to unlawfully intercept, monitor, record, publish, or disclose another person's private communications or protected information.
Laws governing recording, surveillance, privacy, employment, copyright, publicity rights, and consent vary by location and circumstances. You are responsible for determining what applies to your use.
8. Streaming and third-party platforms
When streaming or other network-output features are available, you are responsible for the destination you choose and for complying with the destination service's terms, community rules, technical requirements, copyright policies, privacy rules, and account requirements.
Vuttara Studio does not control Twitch, YouTube, Kick, custom RTMP/RTMPS servers, social platforms, hosting services, content-delivery networks, or other third-party services.
Third-party availability, APIs, authentication methods, codecs, ingest requirements, rate limits, policies, and service behavior may change independently and may break or limit an integration.
9. Credentials
You are responsible for protecting stream keys, passwords, tokens, account credentials, and other secrets used with the software.
Do not share credentials unnecessarily. Rotate or revoke credentials that may have been exposed.
A future Vuttara Studio build may use platform-appropriate mechanisms to protect stored credentials, but no storage system can guarantee complete security.
10. Recording and output reliability
Recording, streaming, encoding, capture, audio mixing, and GPU composition are resource-sensitive operations.
Output can fail or degrade because of hardware limits, storage limits, driver problems, codec behavior, operating-system changes, thermal or power conditions, network congestion, third-party service failures, bugs, or configuration choices.
Monitor important recordings and streams and keep independent backups where appropriate.
11. Third-party and open-source components
Vuttara Studio may use third-party and open-source software, including components related to UI, graphics, media formats, codecs, networking, device integration, or platform support.
Examples in the current architecture or roadmap may include Slint, wgpu, WGSL tooling, FFmpeg libraries, operating-system APIs, and their transitive dependencies.
Applicable third-party licenses, notices, attribution requirements, patent terms, source-offer obligations, or redistribution conditions remain in effect and control over conflicting statements in these Terms for those components.
12. Updates and compatibility
A future public Vuttara Studio release may provide update checking or update delivery.
There is no guarantee that updates will be automatic, perpetual, backwards-compatible, available for every operating system, or capable of opening every project created by an earlier or later development build.
Back up important projects before installing or testing a new development version.
13. Security
Do not use Vuttara Studio to distribute malware, gain unauthorized access, bypass lawful access controls, steal credentials, attack services, or interfere with systems or networks.
Security defects may exist, particularly in development builds. Report suspected Vuttara Studio security issues privately through an appropriate NuttaButtaInAA contact rather than exploiting them.
14. Intellectual property and branding
Vuttara Studio, Vuttara, NuttaButtaInAA, associated logos, product artwork, and other project branding are protected to the extent provided by applicable law.
These Terms do not grant permission to impersonate the project, create confusion about sponsorship or official status, or use branding in a misleading way.
Rights in third-party marks remain with their respective owners.
15. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide bug reports, suggestions, feature ideas, or other feedback, you authorize the project to use that feedback to develop, improve, document, test, or support Vuttara Studio without an obligation to compensate you, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Do not submit material you are not authorized to provide.
16. No guarantee of release or continued availability
Development may be delayed, changed, suspended, restarted, or discontinued.
There is no promise that a DEV build, roadmap item, Linux build, macOS build, integration, feature, or public release will be completed or remain available.
17. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vuttara Studio and related development builds, documentation, website information, and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, data preservation, recording success, streaming success, or error-free operation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, condition, consumer right, or remedy that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, audience, opportunity, data, projects, recordings, streams, credentials, goodwill, or business arising from or related to use or inability to use Vuttara Studio.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Privacy
The Vuttara Studio Privacy Policy describes current privacy and data-handling practices and should be read together with these Terms.

20. Changes to the software and these Terms
These Terms may be updated as the rewrite progresses, new platforms are added, real production features are implemented, or a public release is prepared.
A revised version will identify an updated effective or last-updated date.
21. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Alberta, Canada, and applicable federal laws of Canada, without overriding any mandatory rights or protections that must apply under another jurisdiction's law.
