Privacy Policy
How Nexus United Desktop stores local data and connects to the live community website.
Overview
Nexus United Desktop (the “App”) is a Windows application published under the NuttaButtaInAA publisher identity. It displays the live website at https://nexusunited.net in a dedicated window and provides local desktop conveniences. This Privacy Policy addresses the App’s own behaviour. The website, accounts, Discord and other linked services may have separate operators, notices and practices. This policy does not replace their policies.
At a glance
The App keeps its browser profile, cookies, cached website content, preferences, saved page links, download history, notification history and downloaded files on your Windows device. The App’s current code does not include a developer-operated analytics or crash-report uploading service. When you visit or sign in to the live Nexus United website, your device communicates directly with that website and its service providers, and website information may be transmitted over the internet.
Information stored on your device
The App maintains settings (such as theme, window position, accessibility, notifications and permissions), saved Nexus United page favorites, recently visited page needed for recovery, a persistent browser session (including website cookies and other site data), cached website resources, diagnostic/crash files where available, a bounded download-history index, recent notification history and downloaded files. These are generally stored in the NexusUnitedDesktop workspace-data and downloads folders within your Windows user Documents/NuttaProjects directory, unless the App’s project root is explicitly configured differently. Other users or software with access to your Windows account or files may be able to read them.
What is sent over the network
To show https://nexusunited.net, the App sends normal web requests from your device. These may include your IP address, network/device metadata, visited page URLs, cookie/session values and content you submit to the website, as determined by the site. A sign-in, comment or other website feature may involve further information. This App does not independently determine the website operator’s analytics, advertising, service providers or data retention. Consult the website’s own published privacy information for those details.
App-controlled permissions and notifications
The App can ask before a supported Nexus United website feature uses your microphone or camera, or sends website notifications. In Settings → Privacy you can choose Ask, Allow or Block for available permissions. The App may also display Windows notifications about downloads or connection status; you can control these in Settings. The website may still have its own account or communication preferences.
Downloads, favorites and diagnostics
Files you choose to download are saved locally in the App’s downloads folder. Saved favorites identify pages on nexusunited.net and are stored in your local settings. Diagnostics are generated and displayed locally; the App does not automatically submit a diagnostic report to the developer. If you voluntarily share a report or file elsewhere, the recipient’s practices apply.
Settings backup and removal
Exporting settings creates a JSON file that includes selected preferences and favorites; it is designed not to export stored website passwords, cookies, login tokens or downloaded files. You control where to save that exported file. Clearing web cache removes cached website resources but does not necessarily sign you out or erase cookies. To remove App-local information, close the App and delete the NexusUnitedDesktop workspace-data or downloads content you no longer want, or uninstall and separately remove remaining workspace files. Removing local data does not delete any information held by the live website or other services.
Sharing and third-party services
The App does not contain a feature that uploads your local preference file or browser profile to the publisher by default. Network requests to the live website, links opened in your browser, Microsoft Store distribution and Windows platform services are handled by their respective providers. The privacy notices for those providers apply to their processing. Do not assume deleting the App deletes a website account or information held by Discord, Microsoft or other services.
Security, retention and your choices
The App uses operating-system file locations, Chromium/Electron session storage and permission prompts. No application or internet connection can guarantee absolute security. App-local information generally remains until you remove it, clear applicable records, or the browser/runtime evicts cached data. Website-side retention is outside the App’s control. You may review settings, change permissions, clear notification history and cache, export allowed preferences, and remove local files. For a request about website-held personal information, contact the operator of the relevant website or service.
Children and sensitive information
The App is a desktop window for a live community website. It is not specifically designed for children. Avoid submitting information about other people or sensitive personal information unless you understand the website’s practices and the relevant community rules. Any applicable age restrictions from the website or services you access continue to apply.
International processing
Although App preferences and downloads are stored locally, internet traffic and website data may be processed in locations outside your province or country, depending on the website and its service providers. Review the website’s privacy notice for service-specific data processing and international transfers.
Contact and privacy requests
The App publisher identity is NuttaButtaInAA. For App privacy questions, use the publisher contact or support channel supplied with the official Microsoft Store listing or the contact method published at https://nexusunited.net. These routes must be verified and kept operational by the publisher before public release. For information held by the website, contact its operator. Applicable privacy law may provide rights to request access, correction or other remedies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this notice when the App’s features or data-handling practices change. The current public policy should be available at https://www.nuttabuttainaa.com/nexus/desktop/privacy/. A materially changed practice may require notice or consent beyond publishing a revised policy, as required by law.
